This article elaborates all details about Tamil Nadu 12th result 2020. The Directorate of Government Examinations(DGE) is a wing under the School Education Department of Government of Tamil Nadu.
The main functions of DGE involve the following.
Every year, DGE conducts the class XII board examination on the month of March and they publish the results by April month. Almost 8 lakh students appear for the exam yearly. Passing this exam and obtaining valid mark certificate is vital in order to pursue higher education or further job prospects.
Owing to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic crisis, the Prime Minister of India imposed the first phase of nationwide lockdown from 24 March 2020. As a result, exam for Chemistry /Accountancy /Geography is still pending. Initially, the state education minister released a revised timetable to conduct the test on 4 June 2020.
But the Madras High Court has ordered to postpone the exam due to the rapid surge in Corona cases constantly in the state. As per the latest announcements, the pending exam is likely to be held on 16 June 2020.
A senior official from the Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu (TNDGE) has confirmed that the evaluation for HSE +2 answer sheets begins by May 27, 2020. Almost 25, 000 assigned staff will evaluate nearly 50 lakh answer sheets.
The evaluation work might finish by the first week end of June. The last exam would be evaluated after June 16 once the exam completes, and DGE will publish the results any time later in June 2020.

To download a provisional mark sheet, follow the steps below.
• Provisional mark sheet along with Retotal/Revaluation is also available.
• Enter your Register number, Date of Birth and code shown. Click on the View Result button to get your provisional mark sheet.
• The link activates from the day after the results are out. The provisional mark sheet will be valid for 90 days from the date of result. You can use this for admission to higher education meanwhile.
Last year, mark sheets were distributed from June 3, 2019. Likewise, this year it may be July/August 2020.
For subjects involving practicals, the splitting of marks is as follows
No minimum mark is prescribed for practical and internals, but attendance is mandatory for practicals.
The failed candidates who wrote the exams in old pattern as 200 mark for each subject, can rewrite their failed or missed paper for a total mark of 70/90,( 70 for paper with practicals and 90 otherwise. ) On the other hand, this mark will be converted to 150/200 respectively.
HSE Second Year Arrear : Similarly, candidates who failed in the new pattern can also apply to rewrite only the failed subject again

Minimum marks to quality HSE 12th exam:
The minimum qualifying marks to pass the examination and become eligible to obtain mark certificate is 35 out of 100 marks in each of the six subjects.For subjects involving practicals, the splitting of marks is as follows
- Theory – 70 marks
- Practical – 20 marks
- Internal – 10 marks

Process for Tamil Nadu 12th Supplementary Exam :
Every year, the Directorate of Government Examinations conducts supplementary exam for the candidates who failed the HSE 12th main exam in March. Special instructions for Private Candidates and School Students
HSE Second Year Arrear Old Pattern: The failed candidates who wrote the exams in the previous years, but in old syllabus, can write the supplementary exam of June 2020 in the old syllabus itself.
